Three time Tony Award winner Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon) is making his making his return to Broadway tonight in The Father. The American debut of the Florian Zeller play, produced by Manhattan Theater Club opens for previews tonight at the Samuel J. Friedman Theater.
The offical Broadway.com description of the show’s plot, reads:
“Now 80 years old, André (Frank Langella) was once a tap dancer. He lives with his daughter Anne (Kathryn Erbe) and her husband Antoine. Or was he an engineer whose daughter Anne lives in London with her new lover, Pierre? The thing is, he is still wearing his pajamas, and he can’t find his watch. He is starting to wonder if he’s losing control.”
The Father stars Frank langella, Kathryn Erbe, Brian Avers, Charles Borland, Hannah Cabell and Kathleen McNenny.
The Father was written by Florian Zeller, translated by Tony Award Winner Christopher Hampton and is directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes.
The Father opens for previews tonight (March 22) and will officially open on April 14.
The Father is playing at the Samuel J. Friedman Theater, 261 west 47th Street (btwn Broadway & 8th Ave.).
