In today's pop culture, super diva Kim Kardashian and her brand of gypsies have seemingly taken over the Internet. The frequency in which Kim gets coverage on the web is astounding, so much so that two years ago, the classical violist Kim Kashkashian's Grammy win went virtually unnoticed.
In fact, as I try to search for Kim Kashkashian, Google continually tries to redirect me to pages in dealing with the Kardashian legacy. With that, the Internet nearly went up in flames in 2013 when a classical violist with a near-identical namesake won a Grammy, to which the web assumed it was actually a Kardashian who took home the gold.
And it's because users and listeners are this far out of touch that they even went insofar as to assume that the winner, named Kim Kashkashian, was a misspelling of the Kardashian brand.
Thankfully, the violist has some semblance of levelness in regards to situation, on which she remarked:
"Name-wise, it happens all the time. People actually realize that I'm not that person, but they look at my credit card at a store and say, 'Oh, you're not Kim Kardashian, are you?' It's been happening for years."
The 3-year-old win from Ms. Kashkashian also was not slighted by this degrading comparison. For Karkashian, the win resembled more of a token to her own achievements and to violists across the globe.
Perhaps, had the tables been turned, and had Mrs. Kardashian-West had her name misspelled or misinterpreted as Ms. Kashkashian's, the reaction would have been much more, shall we say, extreme?
Since we provided Mrs. Kardashian-West with yet another article devoted to her supreme popularity, perhaps we can offset the coverage with a video of the violist, Ms. Kim Kashkashian, below.
Check her out below and be sure to keep learn more about the violist here.
