Smash star Krysta Rodriguez (Spring Awakening) has landed a role on the new NBC pilot alongside John Lithgow (3rd Rock From the Sun, Dexter, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels). The show will be called The Trail follows the lives a father and (adopted) daughter, Lithgow and Rodriguez respectively. The twist is that Lithgow’s character Larry Henderson is accused of murdering his wife. It gets even better. The show is said to be a single camera comedy.
The upcoming pilot will also feature Nicholas D’Agosto, Jayma Mays and Steven Boyer, according to Variety.
The Trail is created by Jeff Astrof (The New Adventures of Old Christine) and Matt Miller, (Forever).
Warner Brothers TV will produce the show alongside Barge Productions and Good Session Productions.
Some of Rodriguez’s other notable credits include: A Chorus Line, Bye Bye Birdie, First Date, The Addams Family and Good Vibrations.
John Lithgow’s credits are too many to name. Seriously, Lithgow’s list of credits for the stage and screen are so large that they have their own wikipedia page.
