Lamar Odom may still have a long way to fully recover from his infamous overdose at a brothel in Nevada back in October, but his recent public appearance at Kanye West's Yeezy season 3 fashion show revealed how much his health has improved. So did his tragic experience lead him to finally overcome his addiction issues?
According to a HollywoodLife source, although the 36-year-old former professional basketball player is doing really well physically, he definitely needs more help with his drug problems.
“Lamar’s physical disabilities have drastically improved, but more work needs to be done to help him cope with his chemical dependency problems. Those troubles don’t go away overnight,” the source told the site exclusively.
Speaking of Lamar's improvement, the source went on to say that he is slowly getting back to his old self. He can now handle a conversation and even shares his funny side.
“His mobility and ability to communicate has vastly improved over the last couple of months. Lamar’s humor and personality is coming back too,” the source added. “He will return to see his therapists occasionally for more follow-up appointments and progress updates, but he has completed with his initial intense daily sessions.”
Khloe Kardashian's estranged husband is so happy to be alive after surviving his overdose last year that he plans to give back to other troubled athletes who are experiencing the same problems like he did. HollywoodLife previously reported that Odom wants to use his time for a good cause by being a counselor for the NBA.
“Lam also knows the off-the-court lifestyle can be very tempting and dangerous even," the source said. "He wants to help some of the young cats in the league not to get caught up in all the glam and party life that’s thrown their way. He wants to do good. He’s been given another life to live.”
