Just when everyone thought that Zayn Malik and One Direction's Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan have finally moved on from their feud, the former 1D member did something that could stir up another beef.
Of all the days in the calendar, the 23-year-old singer chose his one-year anniversary when he left the famous band to release his solo album, "Mind Of Mine." HollywoodLife reports that it was not a coincidence that his release date is on March 25, Malik actually did it on purpose.
“Zayn is the master of marketing, he was well aware of the date and wanted to make a statement,” a source said.
The source revealed that he chose the date he quit One Direction for his album release, not to upset his former band mates, but to remind his fans that he is now moving on with his career as a solo artist.
“By releasing his album the same date he quit 1D, he’s trying to show the world that chapter in his life is now closed and this is a new Zayn,” the source continued.
Even though he chose an awkward date, it doesn't mean that he's brewing another fight with his 1D pals. As a matter of fact, Malik recently praised One Direction during his interview with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
“I’m massively grateful for that, and if it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t be here,” he said. “It’s not because I’m trying to be more successful or as successful as what was going on before, because there’s no comparison.”
