I hope you enjoyed the multiplayer beta, because 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' has been delayed again. Game publisher Naughty Dog is currently planning the new release date for 2016, but with 'Uncharted 4' already slipping away from 2015 into the new year, we can only hope more delays aren't required.
Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, the Creative Director and Game Director for Uncharted 4 respectively, issued a statement December 23rd explaining the reason behind the delay.
"This is our largest Uncharted game to date, and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game's development in a timely manner. However, as we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game's levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line."
We can certainly hope that the new release date, April 26th, 2016, is the last date for the game. After enjoying the multiplayer beta from a little while ago, fans are eager for more. And considering this is the last of protagonist Nathan Drake we'll be seeing for a good long while since this is supposedly the last of the Uncharted series.
On the other hand, I'd rather have a game that isn't lacking essentials or filled with bugs on release. I'm sure there will be updates, but it would be much better to have a more polished game than one as bad as the PC version of Arkham Knight.
And it's nice we 'Muricans don't have to wait as long for the game. According to Eurogamer, "PAL regions will receive it on 27th April, while North Americans will get it earliest on 26th April." Considering Naughty Dog is a UK studio, this is a bit ironic.
