It would seem that Princess Kate Middleton is determined to buck England's head of state, despite the iron grip Queen Elizabeth is reportedly used to having over the royal family. According to the latest gossip news updates, Prince William's wife has canceled a centuries long tradition of spending Christmas Day at the palace, as well as the pheasant hunt the day after. The royal events will go on just as they always have, but this year Kate will be spending time with George, Charlotte and her parents, instead of trotting off to the Queen's to celebrate the holidays like she's done in the past. Word has it that Kate has even resisted Elizabeth's pressure to get a shorter haircut -- opting to go for a long bob instead of the mandated hack job.
Since they were married Kate Middleton has allowed Prince William to drag her to Sandringham Estate year after year to spend Christmas listening to the Queen's holiday address, but this year things have changed.
One source in the latest December 21, issue of Life & Style claims that Kate's coup of 2015 it getting Wills to agree to alternating between spending Christmas with her family and his, starting this year:
"Kate's most cherished childhood memories are of relaxed holidays with her family.
"It's hugely important to her that the children can have an informal day...she can't wait to start new family traditions with her children."
While Kate might have been able to make a change or two to their Christmas itinerary this year, the Daily Mail's royal family expert claims that the Queen was ultimately able to pressure the Duchess into trimming a few inches off her hair -- even if she was refused to do it all at once:
"Kate was quietly advised to swap the glamour girl hairdo she sported at Wimbledon in July for a length more appropriate for a future head of The Firm.
"But as she did not want to admit defeat quickly, she has been making the transition in stages."
They way Kate's hairstylist, Richard Ward, described the new haircut to People magazine, however, it's more of a compromise between the long locks Middleton sported over the summer and a shorter more sophisticated do of a mom of two:
"It's a practical style and a great option for a mom who has had long hair, who has a busy life and is short on time.
"It's slightly more sophisticated but with all the benefits of long hair."

Is it nice to see the nation's next Queen giving Elizabeth II a real run for her money?
Or, does someone need to make sure that Middleton learns her place, before she gets anywhere near the throne of England?
