WWE Needs Daniel Bryan to Return In Order to Save Ratings, Fan Interest

After Survivor Series, in which the WWE decided to put the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on Sheamus, ratings plummeted even lower. With Sheamus set to defend his title against Roman Reigns at TLC, fans are in an uproar, and with more bad Raw episodes piling up, the WWE needs a big name to return and add some new flavor to the main event picture. With John Cena out until the end of the filming of American Grit, which is expected to last until a few days after TLC, he is a prime candidate to compete for the championship at Royal Rumble. Besides him, only one other man could bring enough excitement to the title picture: Daniel Bryan.

Cena should be back immediately following the filming of his reality-show, and it would be foolish to expect him to be in the mid-card following his return. One way to put him in that spot, therefore creating a great feud without the need for a belt, would be for the company to finally okay Bryan's return and let him enter the championship picture.

While the WWE has no real reason to trust Bryan's health, he can still hold a feud like no other competitor in the business right now. His feud with Triple H and Randy Orton lasted from Summerslam 2013 to WrestleMania XXX, and is one of the best feuds of the past decade. Now it seems the WWE can't even keep the audience entertained for a month.

Right now fans are totally lost. The WWE has no real direction and no feuds are cultivating. The main event picture has a heel with no heat and a babyface that gets booed. A huge shake-up, like Bryan returning, is really all the company can do to save their ratings and increase interest in the fans. At this point, they are not going to sit through the Royal Rumble without something major happening.
