‘Buffy” Xander Nicholas Brendon Back on Dr Phil After Arrest Intervention & Addiction Rehab

Once more with feeling. Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer Xander actor Nicholas Brendon is heading back to The Dr. Phil Show, after storming out an intervention earlier in the year. Brendon, who has now been seeking treatment for addiction and depression, had a rough go of it early in the year, including a string of arrest. Now it sees that is getting out of rehab and trying to get back to a stable life.

Brendon explained why he walked out the first interview with Dr Phil on Facebook, posting:

“I was on the Dr. Phil Show today and walked off. I’m sure you’re wondering why. My illnesses and addictions are a daily struggle for me, and I am committed to working on them for the rest of my life. A big part of that is focusing on positivity.”

“I’m the first to admit I’ve messed up, a lot, and I’ve hurt people I care about and who care about me. When I was in that seat, I felt that Dr. Phil went for the jugular, talking about some of my recent mistakes, with no build up. I felt that he wanted me to lay the darkest parts of myself on national TV right from the start, and I’m not willing to do that."

It looks like Brandon is ready now. Brandon has since entered rehab treatment for depression and addiction.

In a preview of the episode, Brandon tells Dr. Phil, (via Entertainment Weekly):

“I feel a lot better than I did last time. I think I need more help than I realized. I just felt this was the right thing,”

We wish Nicholas Brendon all the best on his path to recovery.
