In recent weeks Caitlyn Jenner has come under fire for not adequately representing what it is actually like to be a women in today's society. According to the latest gossip news updates, ever former Charmed actress Rose McGowan took the Keeping Up with the Kardashians cast member to task for not truly acting like a woman should. Caitlyn's daughter Kylie on the other hand thinks her dad is a hero for choosing to live his life as a woman and hopes that her acceptance will be an inspiration to teenagers everywhere.
Despite her being widely applauded by polite society upon making her transgender transformation, some folks feel that Caitlyn Jenner isn't keeping up her end of the bargain.
After the I Am Cait star made comments seemingly dismissing the plight of women the world over, Rose McGowan took to Facebook to let Jenner know that if he wanted to call himself a women he should learn a little something about them first (via Entertainment Tonight):
"Caitlyn Jenner you do not understand what being a woman is about at all.
"You want to be a woman and stand with us- well learn us. We are more than deciding what to wear. We are more than the stereotypes foisted upon us by people like you.
"You're a woman now? Well f*cking learn that we have had a VERY different experience than your life of male privilege."
For her part, Kylie Jenner recently defended her father's transformation on Ellen, although she did admit that outside of the ascetics Caitlyn's world view has changed very little since leaving the persona of Bruce behind (via People):
"She's the same exact person, she just looks different I guess.
"I've honestly known about it for a really long time and we actually caught him then dressing up as a girl, when my sister [Kendall Jenner] and I were like 6 and 7 maybe.
"So we've known for a while that there was something, but it was never talked about."
According to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians starlet, however, she much prefers this more open version of her father to the secretive man that she use to call dad (via Entertainment Weekly):
"It was the only thing I really bottled in...I don't bottle in a lot of things and I feel like my family was a little upset about that, but I got through it.
"Now I almost...I like it a lot better, honestly. I like her better than Bruce."
What do you think about Caitlyn Jenner?
Should people give her a break as she tries to adjust to living her life as a transgender woman one day at a time?
Or, is there a responsibility in being a transgender figurehead that Caitlyn is shirking by not fighting for women's rights around the clock?
