Major Walking Dead TV & Comic Spoilers: Tonight, AMC aired the mid-season finale of the hit TV show the Walking Dead and where it was largely a lull fest, it did set up some pretty tense moments for the second half of Season 6. Despite being promised lots of blood, we really didn’t see any touching death scenes. There was plenty of drama and zombie, but our blood thirst went largely unlinked. Last week’s episode left off with Ron (Austin Abrams) was getting ready to shoot Carl (Chandler Riggs) or Rick (Andrew Lincoln) out of revenge for Rick killing his father. This seemed like the perfect moment for Carl to lose an eye.
In the comics Carl loses an eye after he was accidently shot by Douglas Monroe. However, the show has deviated from the comic in some very big ways, especially considering the loss of body parts. In the comics Rick Grimes loses a hand after the Governor cuts it off. Speaking of the Governor, he was maimed by a vengeful Michonne who removed many of his body parts.
Fans have been wondering for sometime if Carl would lose an eye just like in the comics.
Earlier in the year, Chandler Riggs spoke to ComicBook.com about weather or not he wanted to Carl to follow in his comic counterparts footsteps and lose an eye:
"It would be so cool! It would be really cool; I'd love that to happen, it would be awesome."
Not sure having to wear an eye patch, that hat, all that long hair and fake blood in the Atlanta heat would be all that fun, but more power to him.
What do you think? Should Carl lose an eye on the series? What did you think of tonight’s mid-season finale? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
