Although they have yet to officially confirm anything just yet, word has it that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have already split. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Voice couple called it quits just days after announcing that they were dating, due to the added pressure from the media exposure supposedly getting to Gwen. It's said that Stefani, who is still reeling from her divorce from longtime husband, Gavin Rossdale, was afraid the additional scrutiny would affect her kids.
Despite their seeming perfect for each other in a an opposites attract sort of way, Gwen Stefnai is said to have ended her relationship with Blake Shelton to save her children from having to hear about it week after week.
While it seems a little sudden given that they just officially announced they were dating, a supposed insider in the latest November 30, issue of Life & Style explains that Blake doesn't hold it against her:
"He understood her reasons and she said he didn't want it to affect their relationship.
"He told Gwen he couldn't have gotten though the last couple of months without her support, so whatever happens, he's glad they had what they did even if it was short-lived."
In fact, the secret source that E! News spoke to claimed that Gwen didn't even want her ex-nanny outed for reportedly cheating with Gavin Rossdale, because she was afraid that that too would hurt her three sons:
"Gwen didn't want the news about the nanny to get out for the sake of her kids.
"She really wanted to protect them and not have them go through knowing this went on with their father and someone that she trusted.
"[But] she is ready to move on and start the next chapter of her life."
As happy as Gwen seems at times to finally be done with Gavin, the Hollaback Girl recently admitted that if she could take everything all back she would (via People):
"I wish it didn't happen - I wish that all this wasn't happening.
"But at the same time, I feel like it was part of my life journey."
