While Leah Remini made it clear in her new book, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology, that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were all but responsible for her eventually leaving the Church of Scientology back in2013, it seems that the Dancing with the Stars cast favorite has forgiven the Dawson's Creek actress now that they have both supposedly been labeled as SPs by the former friends. According to the latest gossip news, the King of Queens TV star insists that she and Holmes have let their feud go since escaping from the religion that originally pitted them against each other.
Even before the recent release of her new book, Leah Remini was telling anyone that wpild listen just how awful Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were to her, while they were all members of Scientology.
As a result of her publicly bad mouthing Tom and his ex-wife, Katie Holmes released a statement apologizing for anything she might have done to Leah in their past (via People):
"I regret having upset Leah in the past, and wish her only the best in the future."
Judging from the recent interview, Remini gave People it appears that Katie's olive branch has worked -- being that Leah is now claiming that she and Holmes have moved on from their former feud:
"I know now [Holmes] did what she did, leaving [Scientology] the way that she did, because she had to protect her daughter, which, in a way, connects us now.
"Now I know really what she was going through. At the time I was thinking of myself and my family and what we were going through and, although painful, I had no idea she was going through probably a lot more."
Although the CoS has done it's best to discredit Leah's book as a former TV star desperately trying to remain relevant, Alex Gidney, who directed HBO's scathing documentary, Going Clear, insists that Leah's integrity as a Scientology whistleblower is unquestionable (via NY Daily News):
"She was there, she was in the belly of the beast. I mean, I've talked to her before.
"I think what she has to say is important."
