Leah Remini Outs Katie Holmes as Devoted Scientologist?

Since leaving the church following her divorce from Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes has been made to look like one the many victims' of Scientology's supposed internal oppression. According to the latest gossip news updates, however, Leah Remini's new book, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology, paints the Dawson's Creek actress as a devoted CoS acolyte, who delighted in wielding the power of the church against her fellow members, during her time she was married to the Mission Impossible superstar.

Now that Katie Holmes has issued an official apology to Leah Remini in the wake of her Church of Scientology tell-all, Troublemaker, finally getting published, some folks seem more than ready to believe that Tom Cruise ex-wife was little more than the church's pawn durign the entire time they were married.

One source in the latest issue of In Touch claims that Katie's apology was meant to hurt both Cruise and CoS, while at the same time clearing the air with Remini (via Radar Online):

"Katie is clearly getting back at Tom.

"This is the most aggressive she's been since she blindsided him with divorce papers three years ago. She's humiliating Tom again.

"Tom is furious with Katie because he knows, and the church knows, that she has a nondisclosure agreement."

The Scientology insider in the November 15, edition of Star magazine claims, however, that Remini's tell-all recalls how Katie actually delighted in the power she controlled over Leah and her fellow CoS members, during the time she spent as Tom Cruise's wife:

"What happened to Leah was punishment, pure and simple -- and it resulted directly from Katie was never the innocent Scientology victim everyone thinks she was."

While it is common for members of Scientology to sever all ties with anyone the church deems an apostate, Paul Haggis, who left the CoS 6-years ago, revealed in a recent event to promote Remini's book, that Leah refused to give in to the church's vicious demands to disconnect, while devotees like Holmes turned their back on him forever (via People):

"The reason I am here is because there was only one person who didn't disconnect when everybody left and it was Leah.

"She called me when she got the letter [his resignation to Scientology's chief spokesperson in 2009] and said, 'Paul, no no no. You can't leave. You're one of the good ones.' And, I said, 'Leah, I've left. I've resigned'...She said, I'll never disconnect from you.

"And I've heard that before, but she didn't."

What do you think about Katie Holmes' time in Scientology?

Could it be that she really was just a victim of the church's oppressive policies like everyone else?

Or, is it far more likely that Holmes would have had to have been pretty deep into Scientology to have ever shown up on Tom Cruise's radar in the first place?

Let us hear what you have to say about it in the comment field below.
