Who Has the Most Twitter Followers?

Trying to give a sense of the popularity of Bollywood actor Salman Khan, I compared his number of Twitter to that of Hollywood icon Tom Cruise. The results were somewhat surprising. Tom Cruise has, as of this writing 5.1 million Twitter follows. Salman Khan, by contrast, has 14.7 million. Who has the most Twitter followers? Some smart guy, or humanitarian? Justin Bieber or Kim K?

Katy Perry

Number of Twitter Followers - 77.7 million

The top spot goes to pop princess Katy Perry. Whether it is because of her large bosom, or that she kissed and apparently greatly enjoyed it, more people follow the singer than anyone else in the world. Odd?

Justin Bieber

Number of Twitter Followers - 69.7 million

Justin Bieber checks in as number two. People like bad boys and Bieber has proven that except for maybe a Baptist Minister with a head cold, there is no one badder.

Nope.

Taylor Swift

Number of Twitter Followers - 66.1 million

Exactly how many of those .66.1 mill are ex-boyfriends, there is no sure way to find out. All? Could be. Swift has made her career that way.

Follow her on Twitter but Swift will tell you, "We are never ever getting back together.

Barack Obama

Number of Twitter Followers - 66.1 million

Ben Stein and the Republican party claim Obama hates the US but 66 million people like Mr. Obama enough to follow him on Twitter and you just don't mindlessly follow anyone on Twitter.

Well, they follow Bieber.

Rihanna

Number of Twitter Followers 52.7 Million

We round out the top 5 with Rihanna. Actually, it should be YouTube but we will stick with the humans.
