It was thought by many that no matter what Leah Remini said about him or the Church of Scientology in her new tell-all book, Troublemaker, that Tom Cruise would remain publicly silent. According to the latest gossip news updates, however, the world's most famous Scientologist plans to address the King of Queens accusation in an all new interview with Oprah Winfrey. Word has it that the Mission Impossible star has been advised that speaking out would be folly, but Cruise just can't let the Dancing with the Stars cast favorite get the last laugh.
Leah Remini doesn't just open up about her life in Scientology in her new book, Troublemaker, the sitcom star also takes direct aim at the religion's most famous acolyte, Tom Cruise.
In one section of her memoir, Remini recalls how poorly Cruise reacted one day when he couldn't find the things he needed to make cookies, despite their already having been laid out for him on the counter (via Huffington Post):
"Once, he wanted to make cookies, and there was a package of prepackaged cookie dough on the counter. He asked, 'Guys, where's the cookie stuff?'
"Tom seemed like a child who had never been told no. [He screamed,] 'Get in the fucking present time, is what you need to do!'"
One source in the latest November 23, issue of Life & Style claims that, Cruise has had enough of Leah's telling tales out of school and plans to set the record straight himself:
"Tom is livid about Leah's accusations...he'll make some very explosive statements. He's sick and tired of the rumors and accusations."
Although things certainly didn't work out for him the last time, L&S' informant insists that Cruise is determined to tell his side of the story to his old pal, Oprah Winfrey (via Radar Online):
"He's worried that a more hostile journalist would try to paint him in a bad light.
"He wants to do this as soon as possible."
What do you think about Leah Remini coming after Tom Cruise in her new tell-all?
Is Tom right to want to speak out against the reality star he once called friend?
Or, would it probably be best for Cruise to just let the whole thing blow over, instead of bringing even more attention to his unusual religious beliefs?
Let us hear what you have to say about it in the comment field below.
