Deepika Padukone Expresses Sorrow About Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood goddess Deepika Padukone recently reminesced about her beginning and the huge part that Shah Rukh Khan played in helping her become an actor. Deepika was very grateful for every thing Khan has helped her do and expressed a sorrow for not working with him for a long time. Deepika's first major hit was her starring in Om Shanti Om opposite SRK.

Deepika expressed the depth of recently turned fifty Shah Rukh Khan in an article appearing on the website The Indian Express, "SRK is fond of me like I am of him. There is a very pure equation we share. We miss each other. I miss being in his films and being around him on sets. He has always been generous to me. When Om Shanti Om and Chennai Express did well, he in more ways than one gave me the credit for it."

Though her new film Bajirao Mastani will come in competition with SRK's new film Dilwale, Deepika is deferential to her benefactor and all that he's done for her career. However, she stirred up a bit of a controversy when she posted a recent first look for Bajirao Mastani on her Instagram account with the hashtag #challengeaccepted. From another Indian Express article, Deepika expressed her exasperation at the controversy, ""I find it really amazing that some picture of my film with a certain hashtag... it's amazing that some connection is found to some completely different film and it is blown out of proportion. I don't think any of these articles will ever come in my way on my equation with Shah Rukh."

Reportedly, Khan was irritated by Deepika's lack of respect but that was far from the case says Deepika. She says in the article that SRK texted her and congratulated her about the foundation she had set up and there was no rancor of any sort. Says Deepika, "What he and I share is known to us and it is very special. Ironically, when you all were reading this article, he was messaging and congratulating me about my foundation. He was one of the first people I spoke to while I was thinking about it. He has always been encouraging and supportive."
