Every year, some family somewhere has the best Halloween costume set, and this year's is from a galaxy far, far away. Here's photos showing why Neil Patrick Harris' family wins this year.
Yeah, there's little doubt in my mind that this is one of the cutest family Halloween costume sets this year. "We knew Neil Patrick Harris would go big for Halloween and he did not disappoint.
Witness Saturday's Instagram post, featuring him as Obi-Wan Kenobi, husband David Burtka as Han Solo and twins Gideon and Harper as Luke and Leia, with New York's Central Park standing in for Tatooine."
The photo was taken in Grand Central Park, "not in a galaxy far far away which is the cheaper and more convenient way to go about it."
I always enjoy seeing families wearing theme costumes. There's just something really feel-y about it. The closest I ever got to something like this was a pair of bear costumes my brother and I wore when we were about four or five years old. That, and the one time an ex and I had Little Red Riding Hood and Wolf costumes.
When I have a family of my own, we'll be doing something like this.
The Harris/Burtka family have quite a history of excellent costuming. Last year's theme was Gotham City. Harris was the Riddler, Burtka was the Joker, and the kids were Batman and Batgirl.
The Alice in Wonderland set from two years ago is my favorite, though. The men were Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, and the kids were Alice and the Rabbit.
Hopefully next year we'll see yet another awesome costume set from the family.
So what do you think of the costumes? What do you hope they do next year? Tell us what you think in the comments section below!
