Given all they have been through it only seems right that Jill and Jessa Duggar get their own TLC special after their brother's child molestation and Ashley Madison sex scandals caused 19 Kids and Counting to be canceled forever. According to the latest gossip news updates, the girls' father is desperate to worm his way onto Jill & Jessa: Counting On in the hopes of finagling a new spin-off of his own. Jim Bob is also said to be doing his best to convince Anna Duggar not to divorce his porn addicted son, Josh. Word has it that JB and his wife Michelle recently purchased a mansion for the pair in Arkansas, but Josh's wife is reportedly hellbound and determined to remain in Florida with her family indefinitely.
While most 19 Kids & Counting fans were happy to hear the news that Jessa and Jill Duggar would get a chance to distance themselves from some of the shadier elements of their family in TLC's new 3-part special Jill & Jessa: Counting On, their father Jim Bob is reportedly using it as an opportunity to regain a bit of the spotlight.
One source in the latest November 9, issue of Life & Style insists that despite his complicity in his daughters' abuse, Jim Bob Duggar thinks Counting On can potentially be a way to get a new series about his hypocritical family back on the air:
"Jill and Jesse having their own show is really dividing the family, and Jim Bob is desperate to stay relevant and reclaim the Duggar name.
"The family fortune has taken a massive hit and he's fighting back."
Whatever the state of the family's finacies Jim Bob didn't have any problem coming up with a reported $345,000 to buy a new 3,800 square foot mansion in Springdale, Arkasas.
The secret insider that Hollywood Life spoke to explained that it will be money well spent if the property can accomplish the near impossible task of convincing Anna Duggar that it's worth saving her marriage to his son, Josh:
"Jim Bob is desperate to keep Josh and Anna's marriage alive. He wants to see them back together, all happy and smiley, but it's not going to be that easy, at least not if Anna can help it."
"A big fancy house is not that impressive, and [Anna] says she simply can't be bought. Anna has a new sense of self and isn't going to put on the happy family show just to please her in-laws.
"She feels like they are more concerned with image than with the reality of the situation."
