After spending last the couple of years focusing on his shows in the UK, Simon Cowell has decided it's time to return to America's Got Talent. According to the latest gossip news updates, the legendary X-Factor producer thought Howard Stern failed to deliver the harsh criticisms he was hoping for last year. Word has it that in the 2016 season, Cowell is going to be meaner than ever in an attempt to restore the reality TV show's ratings.
After four seasons with America's Got Talent, Howard Stern announced he is leaving the popular reality television show behind.
Thankfully for the fans, instead of bringing back Piers Morgan, the powers that be were able to convince American Idol's original heavy hitter, Simon Cowell, to return to the show.
In a recent statement about joining the program, the Syco fixer joked about how excited he was to be taking over for the much beloved Howard Stern (via CNN Money):
"I am really thrilled to be joining America's Got Talent next season.
"America has some fantastic talent just waiting to be discovered, and I would like that talent to come to our show, including any dogs who can sing!"
In reality, however, the real reason Cowell is said to have finally joined America's Got Talent full-time was his gnawing belief that no one else would be able to bring the hard hitting criticism that the show needs to be successful.
One source in the latest November 9, issue of Life & Style magazine explains that Cowell hired the New York shock jock because he though Howard would put the screw to the show's contestants, but in the end Stern would up using his time on the show to help clean up his image -- rather than relying into his sometimes offensive radio persona:
"Howard was 'nice guy' judge...Simon's going to rile things up!
"People want excitement in both the judges' box and onstage, and Simon is going to give it to them, big-time."
Whenever Cowell makes his debut as a Season 11 judge his fans can rest assured that he will be as wrinkle free and his toddler, Eric.
In a recent interview the 56-year-old television and music producer admitted that he hasn't skimped on face fillers or facials since finally becoming as famous as he is rich (via Mirror):
"Hopefully I look better now -- I probably did have a little too much Botox a couple of years ago, because everyone on TV has it.
"Now I have facials, but nothing too extravagant at the moment."
What do you think of Howard Stern's time on America's Got Talent?
Was he really too nice to the contestants like Cowell supposedly thinks?
Or, was Stern dedicated to giving the performers the best advice they needed at the time -- whether good or bad?
