Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez Use Split to Sell New Albums?

Although they may pretend like there were some sort of mysterious circumstances behind their duet, "Strong" getting leaked, word has it that Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber purposefully released the latest single to drum up excitement for their new albums? According to the latest gossip news updates, Justin and Selena know that everyone is still obsessed with their split, so they scheduled the release of their albums,Purpose and Revival, only weeks apart and leaked the single in between the two dates to maximize sales. For all that complex planning, Harry Styles claimed that it doesn't really matter to him when exactly One Direction's next album is released.

While no one has officially explained just how Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez' latest collaboration, "Strong", was leaked via Drake's OVO Sound Radio last weekend, it has undeniably got people talking about the couple's music -- instead of just their relationship -- once again.

The expert insider that Hollywood Life spoke to claims that the track's release was exactly calculated to maximize their record sales:

"They were all well aware at the time of recording that if they did do a duet, chances are it would be picked up in some way or another.

"They also knew they were both going to be releasing albums in 2015, so a duet with each other would help them get more exposure if it was leaked at around the time of both of their releases.

"If they can piggyback off each other for more publicity, they're happy to do it."

As exciting as all that sounds, Harry Styles doesn't seem to put too much stock in the notion that one album's release can really have that much of an effect on the sales of another.

When asked by Coup de Main if he was worried about Bieber's Purpose coming out on the exact same day as One Direction's new album. Make in the A.M, Styles recalled that it certainly didn't seem to make a difference in the past with Rihanna (via Hollywood Life):

"There is no need for a fight, if they are fighting. We just happen to be releasing our albums on the same day. It's happened to us before; our first couple of albums were released on the same day as Rihanna.

"I think the press have just made a bit of a deal out of it because it's us and Justin Bieber...It's fine. You know you're going to be up against someone in the charts -- it just happens that we have fallen on the same day."

What do you think about Justin and Selena's albums coming out so close together?

Is it probably just a coincidence like Harry Style and Bieber sharing the same release day?

Or, are Selena and Justin more than likely still acting like a couple behind the scene to sell as many record as possible?

Let us hear what you have to say about it in the comment field below.
