NLCS Game 3 Prediction: If the Cubs are unable to come up with a victory tonight, there is a good chance that their season will be over. They are going to have an uphill battle to fight with Kyle Hendricks taking the mound, especially with the Mets having star pitcher Jacob deGrom on the mound.
Joe Maddon still hasn't given up and there is no panic within the Cubs' organization despite being down in the series 2-0. They still believe that they are the better team and will bounce back. Chicago does have the next three games at home, which will be a major help to them having a chance at coming back.
Tonight's game, however, is a must win scenario for the Cubs. Going down 3-0 to a confident and dangerous Mets' team is not a recipe for success.
Chicago hasn't seen a glimpse of the high-powered offense that they had last series, which has to change immediately tonight. They have to start the game with runs in the first inning or two in order to set the tone that things are going to be different this game. There is no denying the fact that they have the personnel to do that.
New York, on the other hand, doesn't have much pressure at all to head into Chicago. They have shown through the first two games of the series that their pitching can get the job done against the Cubs' lineup and that their offense has enough power to get them past the Cubs' top two pitchers as well.
All of that being said, it's hard to see the Cubs getting shut out this series. They are a very talented team that is deserving of being in the NLCS. Our bet is going to rest with the Cubs, but there is a solid chance that the Mets could take the commanding 3-0 lead with a big win.
