Kim Kardashian and her hip-hop husband might consider themselves the crème de la crème of American celebrities, but the Keeping Up with the Kardashians' exhibitionist is finding that outside her Hollywood bubble she may not be as beloved as she once thought. According to the latest gossip news updates, the reality TV personality has been desperately trying to meet Princess Kate Middleton and her royal hubby, Prince William, to little avail. Word has Kim has even tried to arrange a playdate between the Duchess' son George and her daughter North, but the powers that be at the palace were supposedly less interested in that photo-op than they were having one of their royal ceremonies interrupted by a stage crashing Kanye West.
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian might have no trouble getting invited to the White House these days, but getting into Kensington Palace is another matter entirely.
One source in the latest October 26, issue of Star magazine claims that despite her best efforts to meet the future Queen, Kim K can't get Kate Middleton to even bother to return one of her phone calls:
"Kim is obsessed with Kate -- she keeps up with her every move. She wants nothing more than to be a part of Kate's circle.
"[But] Kate would never socialize with someone she and William consider to be a glorified porn star. There is nothing about Kim that Kate finds appealing."
According to the informant, Kim has even enlisted the help of some of her most powerful besties in the hopes of pressuring Princess Kate to at least allow her to set up a playdate between George and North:
"They even petitioned Michelle Obama to put in a good for them with Kate, but the First Lady flat-out refused to get involved.
"Kim thinks she's the most famous person in the world and simply cannot fathom why anyone would not want to be her friend."
It seems that one of the problems standing in Kim's way is her not being near as popular the world over as she has allowed herself to believe.
In a recent poll of Brits the UK's Mirror found that Kanye and Kim didn't even rank among their top five most influential couples:
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been named as the world's most influential couple.
"David and Victoria Beckham were the second-placed 'power couple', closely followed by the Queen and Prince Philip. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie came fourth and the Obamas fifth."
