Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi Cancel Adoption Plans?

Over the years Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have done their best to dismiss rumors that they want to one day start a family of their own, to little avail. After the daytime TV talk show host recently spent so much time doting on Kim Kardashian's little girl, North West, during their recent appearance on the show, the rumor mill once again started to churn out stories about a supposed adoption. According to the latest gossip news updates, however, Ellen and Portia recently made up their mind once and for all that they are going to forgo ever having kids so they can focus on keeping their marriage happy and healthy.

Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, absolutely love kids, but that doesn't mean that they are ever going to have them.

One source in the latest October 26, issue of Star magazine claims that although Ellen and Portia sometimes want to start their own family, they both know that brining kids into their marriage would ultimately be more than it could stand:

"It's been a difficult year for them behind closed doors.

"As any parent will tell you, a baby adds more stress to a marriage, not less, and they need to work on their issues.

"They've made the final decision that kids aren't going to happen."

Regardless of Ellen and Portia's behind the scenes relationship status, DeGeneres explained on the Today show last spring that she didn't want kids, because she was afraid that they would wind up being a huge disappointment to her (via E! News):

"That's such a big commitment. And it seems long-term. It seems like a commitment that you have to stick with. And I just don't know if I can -- it's too risky. Like, what if I don't like the kid?

"What if it turns out that it's not as cute as I wanted or as talented? I'm gonna compare it to all these kids that I have on this show that are so smart and so funny. And I'm like, 'You are nowhere near these kids I had on today.'"

What do you think about Ellen's reasoning for not having children?

Is it likely just as made up as the nonsense suggested by the tabloids?

Or, is DeGeneres right in heading off the disappointment of having children by just opting out of the whole experience?
