There has been some back and forth this week over whether or not Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris have actually broken up? According to the latest gossip news updates, the 1989 singer split with the Scottish DJ after she found out he received a secret message at a very questionable establishment. Although Harris took to Twitter to threaten to sue over the story, neither the "Wildest Dreams" beauty nor her boyfriend have outright refuted the claims that they have indeed split. Selena Gomez even found herself being drawn into the rumor recently when Watch What Happens Live! host Andy Chen asked the Revival songstress about the breakup on his radio show Monday. While it seems unlikely that Swift will ever address the rumors directly, her publicist recently reminded the more legitimate members of the media not to believe the tabloids.
Ever since a picture of what looked like Calvin Harris leaving a seedy massage parlor recently surfaced, there has been a proliferation of reports that Swift had to let him go.
One source in the latest October 26, issue of Star magazine claims that Calvin might have been able to salvage their relationship had he just been honest about everything in the beginning, but Taylor felt she had to call things off once she realized that she really couldn't trust him:
"When Taylor saw the pictures of Calvin leaving the parlor, she immediately called to confront him...He gave her some excuse about needing a message right away.
"She would have been more understanding about everything if he'd been more up-front about the trip instead of leaving her with questions.
"Truth is everything to Taylor...She doesn't have time to deal with liars."
Speaking of lies, Selena Gomez was quick to point out that most of what the tabloids that spread these kind of rumors are really known for is fabricating outrageous nonsense about Hollywood celebs.
In a recent interview for Andy Cohen's Sirius XM radio show, Selena explained that her "Bad Blood" bestie is more than likely no more single than she is pregnant (via People):
"I think I would have found that out.
"This is honestly, it's so stupid. I'm pregnant every week. She's going to be pregnant. It's so stupid. Like, you can't really read that stuff."
What do you think about Taylor Swift's supposed split?
Is it suspicious that neither Swift nor her boyfriend have denied the rumors outright?
Or, is it probably best to keep the source of the story in mind when considering such things just as Selena Gomez suggests?
