The New York Mets head back to Los Angeles to play the Dodgers in the last game of the series in a winner-takes-all matchup. The starting pitcher for the Mets tonight will be Jacob deGrom, who pitched an excellent seven innings in the first game of the series with a 0.00 ERA. DeGrom's season ERA is 2.54. Tonight's game will definitely be a battle of pitchers, as both teams will be starting one of their best pitchers. If deGrom does end up needing a break, the bullpen is pretty good for tonight's game as well Noah Syndergaard and Matt Harvey should both be available for relief if the need arises.
For the Los Angeles Dodgers, Zack Greinke will be starting on the mound. This ace pitcher hasn't allowed more than two runs in a home game since April. Greinke's season ERA is 1.66 and the ERA for the series is 2.57. Assuming both teams' pitchers play well, it will be up to the batters to ensure their teams can score. On the other hand, "It seems like, in my experience, usually you have one good game and one bad game," Greinke is reported to have said. The Dodgers are favored to win the last game and the series, but with two star pitchers and batting lineups that have faced both, it's certainly possible this final game of the series could go either way.
