With ‘Bleach’ Comeback Anime Quiet, Viz Releases Final Episodes of 2015 [UPDATE]

Still no further word on whether a comeback series will be made. However, Tite Kubo's mega-popular anime, Bleach, saw it's final set released on September 29th. Viz Media, the American distributor of the anime, has been drawn the series to a close with these final episodes that first premiered in Japan in 2010.

The final set, entitled Bleach 26, will feature the last twelve episodes of the series of whose stature in Japan is rivaled only by One Piece and Naruto. According to Computercapsules.com "will cost $44.82 when it is released on DVD and will feature the final twelve episodes of the series where Ichigo is still training under Ginjo in order to master his Fullbring powers while Chad and Orihime begin to look into attacks around the area. However when Ichigo's training ends, he returns home to find that his family has started to accept a new enemy as if he was a family friend and turning on Ichigo, leaving him dazed and confused as he struggles to put a stop to this new villain without hurting those close to him."

In Japan, the anime series ran from October 4, 2004 until March 27, 2012. There were 366 episodes made and, for the most part, it faithfully followed the manga. Although, a few original storylines were thrown in, mainly when the manga had to wait for Kubo to catch up. "IDigitalTimes had this to say, "All of this will really up the popularity of Bleach again, which was arguably one of the most popular anime in the world -- up there with Naruto and One Piece. It's understandable that the production studio wanted to slow things down so that Kubo could put enough space between the anime and manga, but they should be going into production again soon."

Whether or not, the anime gets going again is still very much up in the air. Neither Kubo nor the studio that produced the first series have commented.
