The New York Mets won the last game against the Dodgers, putting them at 2-1. With only one more win needed to secure the series, no doubt the Mets hope starting pitcher Steven Matz can shut down batters. He'd better, as he'll be going against Clayton Kershaw. On the plus side for the Mets, Kershaw has not performed as well overall this post-season as he did during the regular season. While ERA isn't everything, Matz has a regular season 2.27 ERA, compared to Kershaw's 4.05 ERA post-season. In other news, slides are now under scrutiny (again) after shortstop Ruben Tejada's leg was broken by a slide to second base by Chase Utley.
The Los Angeles Dodgers play their second game away from home against the Mets. Chase Utley is currently on a two game suspension after a controversial slide broke a Mets player's leg. The hearing is currently scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday. Clayton Kershaw will start on the mound for the Dodgers, and assuming he pitches like he's done for most of the season, he'll be keeping the Mets' batters swinging at air. He had better, because if the Dodgers fail to win, they go home. On the plus side, experts expect the Los Angeles Dodgers to win tonight and send fans to game five of the series.
