Game Prediction: Tonight's game is extremely pivotal for both of these teams as they look to take a 2-1 lead in a best out of five series. Both of these teams have shown their potential so far in this series, but neither team can afford to come up with a dud performance tonight.
Matt Harvey takes the mound for the Mets this evening, which gives the Mets the advantage as Brett Anderson is taking the mound for the Dodgers.
Anderson isn't a bad pitcher, but the Mets certainly can get some runs out of him. He finished the season with a 10-9 record for the Dodgers, while also compiling a 3.69 ERA. Those numbers aren't terrible, but they could give up the necessary runs for the Mets to pull out a huge win.
Harvy, on the other hand, finished the season with a 2.71 ERA to go along with a 13-8 record. He is one of the more underrated pitchers in baseball, even though he is talked about a good amount. New York has to feel confident with him taking the mound tonight that their offense will give him enough support to come away with a key win.
Both the Mets and Dodgers have power in their lineups, which could come into play tonight. If the Mets want to take a huge 2-1 advantage, they are going to need a home run or two. Anderson is the type of pitcher that can give them up and players like Yoenis Cespedes have to take advantage when he makes a mistake and hangs a pitch.
It's tough to predict tonight's game, but when everything is said and done having Harvey on the mound gives the Mets an advantage. New York should be able to pull off the big win and take a 2-1 advantage into Game 4.
New York vs. Los Angeles Final Score Prediction: Mets 4, Dodgers 2
