Jim Carrey’s Pills Killed Ex-Girlfriend Cathriona White?

Since her body was found in her L.A. home with a bottle of pills and note supposedly nearby, the death of Jim Carey's ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White, last week has been believed to be a suicide. According to the latest gossip news updates, it was actually the actor's prescription medication that was found with the body. Word has it that not only did the Mask star not realize that the White had taken the pills, Carey also didn't know that Cathriona was a married, a Scientologist or even depressed.

Jim Carrey is clearly emotionally devastated following the apparent suicide of his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Cathriona White.

Although the family had the 28-year-old makeup artist's body return to Ireland to be buried next to her father, Carrey was among the pallbearers that carried White's coffin at her funeral today in Cappawhite in County Tipperary.

Despite his clearly being shocked at the suddenness of Cathriona's tragic passing, a source close to Carrey explained to the Hollywood Reporter that the iconic actor in no way blames himself, however, for White's reportedly having used his very prescriptions to abruptly end her life:

"They were his medications but unbeknownst to him she took the pills.

"He had no idea. He didn't even know they were gone for a few days."

While it seems pretty clear that Carey is definitely not directly to blame for White's suicide, one of her bereaved friends claims in the latest October 19, issue of Star magazine, that Carrey's sometimes cruel nature did ultimately play a part in Cathriona's overall unhappiness:

"Jim would play head games with her -- telling her how much he loved her open minute, then saying she meant nothing to her the next.

"She also says that it was never just about 'them,' that she always got the feeling that Jim was seeing other women without her knowing."

Regardless of whatever role he may or may not have played in Cathriona's passing a friend of the family told People magazine that the Whites were happy that Carrey came all the way to Ireland to properly pay his respects:

"It was nice that he carried her coffin.

"Cathriona's sisters and family seemed very glad to have him there."
