'Call of Duty: Black Ops III' Tops Most Anticipated Games of Fall List

Call of Duty: Black Ops III tops this year's most anticipated games of the fall for 2015, in spite of having a smaller advertising campaign than last year's smash hit Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The fall is upon on and that means that the fall gaming rush is here. Console owners beware; this year has many titles fighting for your time. This may be a reason that the ads for Black Ops III are easy to miss. This could be a sign that Call of Duty reigns supreme, or that there were too many titles releasing this season. Either way, to the victor go the spoils, and COD is sure to capitalize.

Fans were impressed with Black Ops III at E3 this year, and according to a recent Nielsen report, the game is the most anticipated (multi-platform) holiday game with a 98% rating, beating out other games such as Assassin's Creed: Sydicate and Fallout 4 with 95%, Need for Speed with 92%, Star Wars: Battlefront with 88%, Rise of the Tomb Raider with 80% and Rock Band 4 with only a 76% rating.

According to DualShockers, "Nielsen released a new post on the most highly-anticipated video game releases for holiday 2015, collecting data from over 4,800 gamers over the last few months and measuring the data against awareness, interest in purchase, and consumer ratings of upcoming titles for the remainder of the year. In particular, Nielsen explained that the percentages assigned to titles in its survey reflects how strong the overall anticipation level is for the title, relative to the pre-release anticipation levels of all previous titles that released on the platform(s)."

Smashing the competition this year was Halo 5: Guardians, which grabbed an astounding 100% rating for Xbox One Exclusives. On the PS4 Exclusives list, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection nabbed a 79% rating, and on the Wii U list, Yoshi's Wooly World grabbed 91%.

Don't think that the good folks over at Treyarch and Activision are trying to fly under the radar; they have just waited until later in the season to start their final push. Black Ops III has found a way to find the perfect balance between all of the elements that they have spent the last few games trying to introduce. Call of Duty: Black Ops III will grace gamers with a smoother overall multiplayer experience, new weapons customizations and a staple of the Black Ops series, Zombies set in the 1940s. Is this game going to usher in a new era for the Call of Duty franchise? That remains to be seen, but fans of the games are already lining up to get their hands on a copy of the game on Xbox One, PC, and the PlayStation 4 when it hit store shelves on November 6.
