Selena Gomez Discusses Lupus Diagnosis, Chemotherapy, Anger

Selena Gomez broke her silence about her diagnosis of Lupus and the chemotherapy that she went through and how her angry fans hurt her and made her angry.

She disappeared and took a break for a good chunk of time, but now she is back and wanted to clear the air about everything. Being diagnosed with Lupus isn't an easy thing for a young woman to deal with, or anyone for that matter. Taking time away from the spotlight is exactly what she should have done and there was no reason for anyone to attack her for taking that time.

During a recent interview with Billboard Magazine, Gomez talked about the diagnosis that she received, the chemotherapy she went through and talked a bit about the anger that she had toward her fans that were hating on her for taking some time.

"I was diagnosed with lupus, and I've been through chemotherapy. That's what my break was really about. I could've had a stroke," Gomez said. "I wanted so badly to say, 'You guys have no idea. I'm in chemotherapy. You're assholes.' I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again," she recalled.

Going through that type of a situation and receiving hate on top of it had to be overwhelming for Gomez. She was able to get through the issue and is now back on top of the game and has become one of the top music artists in the business.

Gomez talked about how she has used the anger that she had towards the haters and trolls and put it into her music.

"I'm so f--king nice to everybody, and everyone is so vile to me. I've been working since I was 7. I've been a UNICEF ambassador since I was 17. It's so disappointing that I've become a tabloid story," Gomez said. "The hate motivated me."

She also came out and was very clear that Justin Bieber has nothing to do with the success that she has been having or anything that she has been able to do recently.

"No. This is my time. I've deserved this. I earned it. This is all me."

All of that being said, it's great to see her finally having success after going through such a rough time. It just goes to show how much people can hurt another person who is going through things. A lesson that should be learned is that people must be more careful rather than jumping to conclusions.
