They may have just celebrated their daughter's first birthday together, but the smart money seems to be on Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling breaking up any day now. According to the latest gossip news updates, Mendes has convinced herself that she can't trust her boyfriend with his La La Land costar, Emma Stone, and Gosling just can't take it anymore. In addition to supposedly having to deal with the baby mama drama, Ryan recently had to put up with fellow Canadian Josh Brolin seemingly taking him to task for adopting a ridiculous accent to appear more tough.
No official announcements have been made just yet, but some folks seem absolutely convinced that Ryan Gosling's relationship with Eva Mendes is on the verge of collapse.
One source in the latest October 5, issue of OK! Magazine claims that Eva has already gone as far as talking to a lawyer so she can get full custody of their daughter when things inevitably go south in the near future:
"It's typical for Eva -- she has to be in control.
"They're still living together but already she is trying to organize her future as a single mother.
According to the informant, Ryan has just about had enough of Eva's high-strung nature and is ready to pull the plug on things himself:
"He's incredibly easygoing...He kept convincing himself that Eva would relax once Esmeralda was out of her newborn phase and Eva was getting more sleep, but now he can see that their problems are more deep-rooted than that."
The insider that Star spoke to revealed that Ryan has become particularity fed up with Eva's insistence that he and his recurring costar, Emma Stone, secretly have something going on behind-the-scenes (via HollywoodLife):
"It doesn't matter how many times Ryan tells Eva that he and Emma are just friends, she knows there's an attraction there.
"The trust just isn't there, and she thinks it's time they went their separate ways."
Adding insult to injury, Josh Brolin recently seemed to take a potshot at Gosling and his attempt to toughen himself up by adopting an unoriginal accent.
While chatting with Man of the World, Brolin, who worked with Golsing on Gangster Squad back in 2013, appeared to take his fellow Ontario native to task for relying on affectations that where clearly not his own (Us Weekly):
"I see young Hollywood punks on the set, and it's funny to me.
"I remember a guy I worked with who was from Ontario, but he talked like De Niro,
"I was like, 'Holy sh-t, he's actually doing De Niro. Does he know that I know? I'm not even listening to what he's saying.' It's fascinating to me."
What do you think about Ryan Gosling's put on accent?
Is Josh Brolin right to seemingly call the actor out for talking like a Muppet in some of his movies?
Or, was Brolin clearly not even talking about Gosling -- being that he always sounds like an angel sent from heaven?
