The Voice Season 9 has just started and there has already been two standout competitors that have the coaches spinning in their chairs. Jordan Smith wow the audience and coaches with a perfect cover of Sia’s “Chandelier.” Adam Levine was able to sway Smith over to his side. Meanwhile, Barrett Barber cowboyed up and joined Blake Shelton’s Country Mafia after his rendition of “Angel Eyes.” This left Adam Levine a little sore, causing him to lash out at Shelton.
However, Levine didn’t get all of the night’s talent on his side. After wowing all the audience with his rendition of “Angel Eyes,” Barrett Barber, joined Blake Shelton and his Country Mafia.
Levine wasn’t too happy with Shelton snaking the star to be, attacking Blake’s recruiting methods in a behind the scenes clip:
"'I'm from a place' and they're like, 'Well, I'm from a place' and, like, 'Okay!' Dumbest thing ever! Can't you be from different places and, like, do stuff? It's so stupid. It's a dumb, stupid thing."
Blake Shelton dismissed Levine’s rant, saying:
"If it doesn't bother you, why are you still talking?"
However, that didn’t stop Levine from continuing to lay into Shelton:
"No, you bother me. I’ve never seen a man turn from a country bumpkin to a 14 year old girl, when he needs to. You know with the last girl he was like, ‘I love Meghan Trainor.’ You turn into like a 9 year old girl. And than when he gets up there you put your big boy shoes on and talk like a f**king cowboy. Man this is bullsh*t. You are a sociopath. You should be ashamed of yourself. “
