The Philadelphia Eagles will welcome the Dallas Cowboys this afternoon in NFL action. What is a reasonable final score prediction for this Week 2 game?
DeMarco Murray has all eyes on him in his first game against his former team. He was a big part of the major success that the Cowboys had last season and was by far the best running back in the NFL throughout the course of the season. Simply losing him dropped the Cowboys' expectations for the 2015 season in a big way.
Chip Kelly didn't use Murray that much last week in his debut against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football, but you can expect to see a heavy dosage of Murray throughout this game.
Tony Romo and the Cowboys suffered a huge loss last week with the foot injury that superstar receiver Dez Bryant suffered. He will miss a good chunk of the season with that injury and Dallas will now have to figure out where to get their offense from without Murray or Bryant on the field. It won't be easy for them to say the least, especially with the struggles that Romo has had throughout his career when asked to step up as a playmaker.
Philadelphia definitely looks like the better team on paper heading into this afternoon's game. They have a very solid passing game with a playmaker at the running back position. Not only do they have a better offense, their defense should step up and come through with a big game with Dallas being short-handed.
Assuming both teams play up to their full potential, the Eagles shouldn't have too much trouble dispatching of the Cowboys tonight. Jerry Jones has to be concerned about the position that his team is in and has to know that losing Bryant for the time that he will miss is going to kill the Cowboys. They still have a chance to bounce back from the injury, but it will take a lot of players stepping up and playing above their talent.
Needless to say, this game is going to be very entertaining with the NFC East rivalry that they have. Both teams hate each other, but the Eagles having Murray on their team makes this game even more tense.
Expect to see the Eagles pull out a big victory to even out their record at 1-1, but the Cowboys aren't going to go down without a fight.
Philadelphia vs. Dallas Final Score Prediction: Eagles 31, Cowboys 17
