Andrew Luck: 5 Bold Predictions for the Indianapolis Colts' QB in Week 2 vs. New York Jets

Andrew Luck came through with a poor Week 1 performance. What five bold predictions can be made about the Indianapolis Colts' QB heading into Week 2?

He simply never seemed to calm down against a very tough Buffalo Bills' defense and they certainly didn't stop bringing pressure. Luck finished the game completing 26 of his 49 passing attempts for 243 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. There was never any comfort level with his passing and the Colts ended up falling to the Bills by a final score of 27-14.

Looking ahead to Week 2, the Colts cannot afford to have their quarterback struggle as mightily as he did last week.

Luck knows that he has to figure out how to pick things up against another very tough defense. New York isn't a joke this season and took care of business in dominating form last week against the Cleveland Browns in a 31-10 win. They are going to come after Luck and do everything that they can do to get in his head.

All of that being said, let's take a look at the five bold predictions that can be made for the Colts' star quarterback as he looks to rebound from last weeks embarrassment.

1. Luck Throws for At Least 350 Yards

Starting off with a simple prediction but still somewhat bold against a defense as talented as New York's, Luck will go from throwing 243 yards against Buffalo to at least 350 against the Jets. Even though there is a chance that T.Y. Hilton could miss the game with a knee injury, Luck should take a big leap forward. He should still be just fine with Andre Johnson, Donte Moncrief and Phillip Dorsett along with his two talented tight ends.

2. No Interceptions Are Given Up to the Jets' Talented Secondary

One of the biggest issues that Luck has had throughout his career to this point is throwing bad interceptions. He threw two against Buffalo and had a third easy interception dropped. This coming week against the Jets he will take much better care of the football and will not throw a pick against Darrelle Revis and the New York secondary.

3. Luck Will Record at Least Four Total Touchdowns

Indianapolis simply didn't look like the high-powered offense that everyone expected them to be last week. Luck only led the offense to two touchdowns, but that will change in Week 2 and Luck himself will be a part of at least four total touchdowns. Whether he throws them or runs them in, he will be responsible for at least 24 points that the Colts score before their extra point attempts.

4. Andrew Luck Will Make a Huge Jump in the MVP Conversation

Following his embarrassment in Week 1, there were many question marks about whether or not Luck was still a candidate for the Most Valuable Player award. He was hyped to be a legitimate candidate all offseason long and will be talked about once again following a big Week 2 performance. Luck is much better than he played last week and he will have extra motivation to prove that against the Jets.

5. Luck Powers the Colts to a Big Victory Over the Jets

Obviously the number one thing that Luck can do this week is to power his team to a victory over the Jets and even up their record at 1-1. He is going to do just that and will get the Colts' season back on track after a rough start. Luck is too talented to have back-to-back bad games and will come through with a monstrous performance to help get his team in the win column.
