At 23-years-old Greer Grammer knows that the good times may not last after Awkward is finally cancelled, because her dad, Kelsey, told her so. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Frasier star told his daughter long before Season 5 of her show was ever filmed that she had to be weary of the way the Hollywood machine uses women. That being said the actress says she isn't afraid to post a few selfies of her having a drink or two on Instagram, but is always careful to make sure she doesn't over expose herself on social media.
While some girls might come out to L.A. having no idea what the seedy underbelly of Hollywood is really like, Greer Grammer has no illusions about how bad things could be when she started down her current career path.
During a recent chat at the Teen Choice Awards, Greer explained that her dad set her down when she decided to become an actress to let her know that show business can be a cruel mistress (via FoxNews):
"My dad has given me such great advice.
"He kind of had a breakdown with me one day where he was like, 'Hollywood can be so hard on women and it can just turn them down so don't let that happen.'"
Trying to keep that in mind, Greer explains that she is careful not to ever overdo it on social media sites like Instagram, although she still makes sure to have a little fun:
"I'm definitely aware of what I post and I have to double check on what I'm posting.
"But, I'm 23, and I feel like it's OK to post myself with a glass of wine, and I feel like with today's social media it's not as censored as it was before...Now you are able to be yourself with social media."
Despite her famous sitcom pedigree, Greer doesn't spend every interview talking about her father.
In a recent interview in the latest September 21, issue of Star magazine, Grammar talked about what Season 5 of Awkward meant for her character, Lissa:
"This season brings a lot of changes because it is the end of senior year.
"Lissa's the head of prom committee, she gets into college and a lot happens with Sadie's and her friendship"
Let's hope that Lissa never has to deal with the uglier side of Hollywood that her famous dad warned her about.
