A large part of Sons of Anarchy was the impact of Jax Teller’s (Charlie Hunam) Father, John Teller’s death, had on him and the rest of the club. Despite dying decades before the series began, played a large role in the show’s mythology. Now, Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter is opening up about his plans to do a SoA prequel as a limited series.
Kurt Sutter might have his his hands full with his new show, The Bastard Executioner and the, hopefully, the new Sons of Anarchy spinoff series, featuring the biker group The Mayans. However, that isn’t going to stop him from planning a Sons of Anarchy prequel.
Recently Kurt Sutter sat with Deadline where he opened up about the plans for the prequel’s plot:
“At some point I do have plans to hopefully do the prequel, which I do see as a one-off 10- or 12-episode thing where we begin in Nam and see John Teller and Piney and see how that relationship got created, and bring them back to the States and the obvious external dynamics that were going on with the country and the perception of the war and what an odd kind of perception these vets got when they returned home. And then have it be the development of the club, ending before we start to get too close to some of the mythology that’s already been established.”
