No doubt about it, Fifty Shades of Grey is a bonafide hit. The new film has grossed almost $300 million in its opening week. Now Dakota Johnson is rubbing Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) face in the fact the movies success. Hunnam was replaced early on by Jamie Dornan (Once Upon A Time). During a recent interview with David Letterman, the SNL host, opened up about the Christian Grey recasting. Watch the interview to see Dakota Johnson’s comments for yourself.
During her interview with David Letterman, Dakota Johnson spoke about Charlie Hunnam’s exit from the film:
"I think his schedule conflicted. He was busy."
About the film’s success, Johnson stated:
“I don't think he knew that was gonna happen."
Last year, Charlie Hunnam graced the cover of Men’s Health Magazine, where he spoke up about turning down the role of Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey:
"I was going to finish playing a psychopath [Jax Teller] who'd just lost his wife, and five days later I'd be on set playing Christian Grey. I was like, 'This is going to be a f***ing disaster.' "
