Despite the rumors that they could one day soon be reuniting to work on another movie, Robert Pattinson is said to have skipped out on the Venice Film Festival this week just to avoid his ex-wife, Kristen Stewart. According to the latest gossip news updates, FKA Twigs' fiancé didn't boycott out of any personal problems with his Twilight ex, the Brit just didn't want to steal the focus from all the deserving artists by turning the event into a media circus every time he inadvertently bumped into KStew at a party or hotel bar.
Although they have both clearly moved on since their divorce, Robert Pattinson reportedly fears that the international press certainly has not.
Word has it that the Twilight heartthrob skipped out of the screening of his new movie, The Childhood Leader, because he was afraid the his being at the Venice Film Festival at the same time as Kristen Stewart would no doubt take attention away from the artists that really deserve it.
An insider cliaing to be close to Pattinson told Page Six that Robert didn't think that his showing up at the event would ultimately be inappropriate (via Mirror):
"He didn't want the story to be all about how he and Kristen were nearly bumping into each other.
"Venice is very small...and there are only so many parties and hotels."
According to the super-sleuths at Gossip Cop, Pattison's reasons for not making it to Venice this week had everything to do with his work ethic -- not to his personal life:
"Pattinson has been tethered to The Lost World Of Z production, plain and simple.
"It's unfortunate that the filming schedule prevented him from attending two major events, but that's really all it was."
Meanwhile, KStew is said to have no trouble dealing with any issues surround her split with Pattinson thanks to the three separate therapists that the movie star is said to depend on to deal day to day.
One source in the latest September 21, issue of OK! Magazine claims that those closest to her don't really understand what Kristen could possibly need so many different specialist for but acknowledge that it seems to work for Stewart:
"Her friends think it's over the top, but Kristen's the first to admit she has issues."
