Spoiler Alert: The following contains the identity of the killer from Season 1 of MTV’s Scream. The Scream TV series has concluded its first ten episode season and the killer has been revealed. Podcaster Piper Shaw (Amelia Rose Blaire) was revealed to be the Lakewood Slasher. A connection between Shaw and Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus), was also revealed leading into Season 2. That is right, the series has already been renewed for a second season and unlike American Horror Story, it will not be an anthology. Recently, Blaire opened up about the killer finale and what’s next for the series, following the death of executive producer Wes Craven.
Earlier in the year, MTV’s Programming President Mina Lefevre, spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the show returning for a second season:
“We look forward to another season filled with suspense, horror and more twists and turns.”
TVLine recently spoke to the killer herself, Amelia Rose Blaire (Piper Shaw),`about Bex Taylor-Klaus (Audrey Jensen) involvement in the murders and what is ahead for Season 2:
“Toward the end, Piper was kind of someone that people were starting to suspect might have been the killer. Certain things were planted that hinted at it, [like] her father was murdered. We tried to let everyone have those moments of suspicion, and… we liked letting Audrey be the other half of that equation, because she felt like the very surprising element to us. Audrey is someone that I feel like the audience relates to and empathizes with, so letting her be the connective tissue between Season 1 and Season 2 is a great way to let the audience get pulled back in. They want to believe in her. They want to believe that she’s good, but there’s also a part of them that wants to think she got some justice, too. That’s an element that’s going to pull people back in a strong way.”
