Although the official story behind Rumer Willis postponing her Broadway debut is her broken foot, word has it that the Dancing with the Stars winner was in no way prepared to take the stage anyways. According to the latest gossip news updates, Demi Moore's daughter can't handle the stress of having to sing, dance and carry the show and is cracking up under the pressure. That seems pretty hard to believe, however, given how adept Rumer became at conquering her fear during her days dancing alongside Val Chmerkovskiy.
While there is no doubt that Rumer Willis had to postpone her Broadway debut this month due to multiple fractures in her right foot, it's being rumored that the Bruce and Demi's eldest couldn't be happier about the delay.
One source in the latest September 7, issue of Life & Style claims that Willis had barely been holding it together before she got word that she would have another month to practice:
"From the very start, Rumer has been panicking because she doesn't feel prepared to perform.
"She's had several meltdowns...She's been crying and having major anxiety attacks because she's having a very difficult time with the choreography and all the singing."
According to the supposed insider that National Enquirer spoke to, Willis is having a very hard time coming to terms with all eyes being on her almost all the time:
"Sure, she knows how to dance. But taking on the starring role in a major production is way beyond anything she's ever done before.
"She just can't cope. Everyone is wondering if she'll quit -- or get fired!"
Perhaps the reports that Rumer is buckling under the pressure would gain a little more traction had Willis not just won Dancing with the Stars in front of millions of viewers on live television.
In a recent piece she wrote for Glamour, Rumer explained that ever since she started dancing on the show, she hasn't had to worry about her confidence letting her down (via DailyMail):
