Tonight, The Disney Channel’s hit spin-off/sequel series, Girl Meets World is all new. Tonight, Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) meet Jack Hunter (Matthew Lawrence). The Boy Meets World alum is making his first appearance in tonight’s all new episode. The band Shepard also make a special appearance.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of Girl Meets World, titled “Girl Meets Semi-Formal,” reads:
“Riley is asked to the semi-formal dance by a classmate and is torn whether to go with him or Lucas. Meanwhile, Cory's brother is visited by an old friend.”
That is right. Matthew Lawrence is back and Jack Hunter. Jack is Shawn Hunter’s (Rider Strong) older half brother and best friend and former roommate of Eric Matthews (Will Friedle).
Recently show creator Michael Jacobs spoke to MTV News at the ATX Television Festival, about Jack’s return:
“Jack and Eric come to the girls’ middle school semi-formal through a very believable circumstance, and that’s where Jack Hunter meets Riley Matthews. He doesn’t know that she’s Cory’s daughter, but his realization that this can happen in life, that Cory and Topanga can have a creature such as this, changes him. It’s a lovely episode.”
