Despite the fact the Taylor Swift proved that she is not above calling someone out on Twitter herself, BET daytime TV talk show host Wendy Williams thinks Katy Perry is completely at fault for their recent feud. According to the wig loving gossip queen, the 1984 singer is to blame for keeping the beef with her 1989 nemesis going, after she posted a tweet that seemed to call out Calvin Harris' girlfriend for picking a fight with Nicki Minaj. Although, one might wonder if Williams should refrain from taking any potshots at her fellow celebs for a while, after she failed to successfully complete her 12-date stand-up mini-tour -- cancelling her show in Memphis at the last minute Thursday night.
Wendy Williams may have determined that Katy Perry was the clear winner of her celebrity feud with Taylor Swift, the radio DJ turned talk show host now thinks that the "Roar" singer needs to grow up and stop egging things on with America's sweetheart.
In her latest August 17, contribution to Life & Style magazine, Wendy explains that things are well past being cute and at this point Katy should be old enough to know better:
"I have had enough of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry's never-ending catfight.
"I know it takes two people to fight, but I think Katy's the popstar to blame for letting the drama go on for so long. [She] blasted Taylor on Twitter on July 22, for being a hypocrite.
"I am expecting more from Katy at the age of 30.
"Katy, it's time to put down your claws and be the bigger person...Please grow up!"
Of course, one might wonder who Wendy Williams thought she was, calling out a touring mega-force like Katy Perry, when she can't even mange to complete her limited 12-date summer tour without disappointing an entire city's worth of fans.
According to Commercial Appeal Memphis, Williams abruptly cancelled her stand-up show just hours before she was supposed to go on -- with no explanation as to the reason why:
"Emmy nominated talk show host Wendy Williams has canceled her show at the Orpheum in Memphis.
"The event, which was slated for Thursday night at the downtown venue, was abruptly scratched. Neither show promoter Fred Jones nor the Orpheum's website gave a reason for the last minute change."
What do you think?
Is Wendy right about Katy Perry needing to grow up and leave Taylor Swift be?
Or, is it Katy's duty to call out Swift's apparent hypocrisies any and everywhere she believes seems them?
