Usually at this point in the relationship Taylor Swift is often looking to split, but word has it that things couldn't be going better between the 1989 singer and her new boyfriend, Calvin Harris. According to the latest gossip news updates, the 31-year-old EDM DJ has already picked up a fancy engagement ring and is, of course, planning to propose just as soon as the time is right. Word has it that before any real wedding plans can be made, however, the "Bad Blood" music video vixen is going to have to have her new beau sign an ironclad prenup to protect her reported $200 million net worth and high-profile real-estate portfolio.
Despite the fact that they haven't officially been dating for all that long, it's said that Calvin Harris already knows that he wants to spend the rest of his life with Taylor Swift and is now taking steps to ensure that happens.
One source in the latest August 10, issue of Life & Style claims that the Scotland native is so serious about proposing to Swift that he's already started looking for the perfect engagement ring:
"Taylor loves chunky rings, so he wants to go big.
"He wasn't subtle...He was asking all of Taylor's friends about her fave jewelry designers and her ring size."
While Calvin is said to be sweating all the details in order to make sure that his eventual proposal will be epic, the insider that Hollywood Life spoke to insist that all that really isn't necessary:
"Even though they haven't been together that long if he did ask her tomorrow she'd say yes, she's just so happy with him.
"Taylor doesn't think it's a sure thing, she's not that cocky, but she has a really good feeling that they will end up together."
That same sentiment was seconded by L&S' informant, who notes that no matter what, Swift is going to make sure that if things go south she will be protected by a bulletproof prenup:
"Taylor's worth over $200 million and he's worth about half that, so we're talking some series negotiations.
"Taylor and Calvin plan to be together forever, but when you have as much money as they do, you have to be practical."
Being that she and Harris and currently the highest paid couple in show business, the insider points out that whatever agreement they come to, it's liable to get as much press as the wedding itself:
"It could be the biggest prenup Hollywood has ever seen!
"Their attorneys aren't taking any chances."
Because what is the point of falling in love if you can't one day have a frank discussion about the liquidation and distribution of any assets acquired during your time together?
