‘True Detective’ Rachel McAdams Dating Taylor Kitsch Confirmed? [CAST NEWS]

Although their characters don't seem to share any on-screen chemistry in Season 2 of HBO's True Detective, word has it that Rachel McAdams is definitely dating fellow cast member, Taylor Kitsch. Despite the rumors that have been running rampant in recent weeks that her South Paw co-star, Jake Gyllenhaal has taken an interest in Ryan Gosling's Notebook ex-girlfriend, it seems like Kitsch beat him to the punch. In addition to the new relationship, McAdams' career also seems to be on a serious upswing. Word has it the 37--year-old actress is in talks to take roles in both Marvel's upcoming Doctor Strange and DC's Black Orchid.

While sights like the Stir have been proudly perpetuating the rumor that Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdam's will soon be dating, it seems she might have already settled for another one of her recent costars.

Rachel has jokingly downplayed her growing romance with True Detective star' Taylor Kitsch -- only addressing the rumors as "bizarre" in on recent interview -- but an inside source in the latest August 10, issue of OK! Magazine reveals that McAdams isn't playing that hard to get behind the scenes:

"Their connection has only grown. Taylor is taken with Rachel's wisdom and how down-to-earth she is after all her success.

"He's telling friends he can see it becoming long-term...[and] she's smitten."

Not only is her role on True Detective responsible for landing Rachel her new boyfriend, it seems McAdams career is really starting to benefit from the shot in the arm that helming a major HBO series brings.

According to Variety, McAdams may soon be moving onto to Marvel now that she has wrapped things up with the premium cable network:

"McAdams is the choice to land the female lead opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel's Doctor Strange, although it's currently unknown if an offer is in hand."

Rachel told the L.A. Times that things were far from all worked out but she was at least discussing the possibility of joining the new franchise (via Variety):

"It's still super-early days, and I don't know where that's going to go, if it's going to go anywhere at all."

That being said, McAdams admits that Doctor Strange isn't the only comic book movie she's got in front of her, and all things being equal, she doesn't know if it's the film she'd most like to make (via ScreenRant):

"I'm certainly not a comic book snob...[but] I always wanted to make Black Orchid.

"It's a tough one. But the fact that Doctor Strange is happening makes me think there's hope for more Neil Gaiman out there."

Hopefully, McAdams will soon be able to make both, because if there is anything the world needs it's more movie based on superhero comic books.
