It looks like Gwen Stefani's role on The Voice is providing her recording career the much needed shot in the arm that she was no doubt hoping for when she agreed to replace Christina Aguilera on the hit TV show. According to the latest gossip news updates, after wanting to work with hip-hop mastermind, Eminem, for years, their "Kings Never Die" collaboration for Southpaw just sort of fell into her lap. Meanwhile, Xtina, who reported is taking this latest break from NBC to get married to fiancé/baby daddy, Matt Rutler, is rumored to have turned into a real Bridezilla and has turned planning their wedding into a nightmare for all those involved.
Despite the fact that she has long been interested in working with hip-hop legend Eminem on some worthwhile project, Gwen Stefani recently told Entertainment Weekly that she almost missed her opportunity to have a part on his single from the Southpaw Soundtrack, "Kings Never Die," due to some last minute vocal troubles:
"The process was really simple...One of his guys came and played me the song and then I was like, 'Yeah, I like it! Amazing!'
"Then all of a sudden they called me and said, 'It has to be done today' and I was like, 'Ah, my voice' - I had a cough or something.
"It was like, 'God, why does today have to be the day my voice is not happening?'
"But it ended up turning out good."
What is supposedly not turning out so good is Christina Aguilera's attempt to finally put her wedding to Matt Rutler together.
One source in the latest July 20, issue of OK! Magazine claims that since taking the time off to focus solely on putting the happiest day off their lives together, Xtina has been driving everyone crazy:
"Several Wedding coordinators have been hired and fired.
"[And] Matt's family has also offered to help, but every suggestion is shot down.
"It's her way or the highway."
Perhaps, Christina Aguilera should try to hire Gwen Stefani to plan her wedding, because that Hollaback Girl definitely knows how to come through in a pinch.
