Word has it that one of the reasons that Christina Aguilera is taking a break from The Voice in Season 9 is to finally plan her wedding to longtime fiancé and father of her daughter, Matt Rutler. According o the latest gossip news updates, however, Xtina's friends would rather Gwen Stefani stayed on tour with No Doubt and the Burlesque actress kept on working, if a hiatus means that she'll be letting her new husband manage her net worth. It's said that those closest to Christina think the Nashville star is making a big mistake letting someone who doesn't really know what they are doing have near total control of her finances.
Despite the fact that just a few short weeks ago the gossip mongers were claiming that Christina Aguilera was doling out an allowance to her fiancé Matt Rutler -- like he was some sort of teenager -- the supermarket tabloids are now claiming that Xtina has given her beau the reigns of her pocketbook and plans to give him near total control over all her finances after their marriage.
The source that Star magazine spoke to, however, claimed that all of Christina's closest friends and family were starting to fret that Aguilera put someone so clearly unqualified in charge of managing something as important as her money (via OK! Magazine):
"It's odd for Christina, but over the years, she's handed over a lot of financial responsibility to Matthew...[and] marrying means he'd be in complete control.
"[Mathew has] zero financial smarts but thinks he knows it all.
"Friends worry he's going to squander her fortune."
Thankfully, even if Matt is somehow really put in charge of Aguilera's checkbook and does manage to get more than a little carried away, at least, Christina will soon have some fresh new funds to add to the coffers.
The behind-the-scenes Voice source that Us Weekly spoke to explained that Christian had already worked out a deal to return to her spinning red chair and network paycheck in 2016:
"Christina is confirmed for Season 10 and has already signed her contract.
"She has been very vocal about not doing Season 9 to take a break to spend time with her family and her kids.
"She always planned to flip them so she had a season off and she is not being replaced by Gwen. She will definitely be back the next season."
Let's just hope that if things do take a turn for the worst that Christina will be able to make it at least as fast as Matt can spend it.
