TVXQ Breakup: Loses 2 Members to Mandatory Military Service, Plans Hiatus

TVHQ are planning to step away for a little while as two of their members go about fulfilling their military commitments. Jung "U-Know" Yunho and band mate Shim "Max" Changmin are set to do their required military service. Originally, only Yunho was scheduled to be inducted. Changmin, who some sources attribute his brotherhood synergy with Yunho as the reason for his early enlistment, will be joining his bandmate in the army earlier than expected.

Yunho will enlist July 21st. He is starring in the web drama, I Order You, and has recently finished up shooting the series. Changmin will be enlisting before the year's out. He performed solo at the recent SMTOWN concert in Tokyo.

About their last concert as duo together, Changmin had this to say, "I never thought I would see a lot of changes around me two years ago. But after two years, I found I was wrong. You fans will eventually change and stop being our groupies. But I will never forget this moment and wish to come back on stage in front of you all."

During their last tour, both Changmin and Yunho both got very emotional about the oncoming hiatus that they were forced to undertake. Courtesy of KPopStarz, "'In two years, our fans will become university students, or graduate students, or even be married and have kids,' Changmin commented according to The Fact. 'But we will never forget the lovely fans and we know you will continue to support us too. We want to come back again. We hope that TVXQ will continue to give you energy.'"

For those of you who don't know, South Korea is still, after all these years, technically at war with the North. Military, for all able-bodied men, is mandatory.
