It looks like Voice Australia coach Joel Madden and his reality TV wife won't be getting divorced after all. According to the latest gossip news updates, Nicole Richie's Commodore dad, Lionel, let it be known that the reports that his daughter is looking to end her marriage couldn't be more untrue. That being said, the Candidly Nicole star couldn't deny the rumors that she was trying to get pregnant with Madden Brothers baby number 3 but would confirm that she couldn't be more satisfied with her family at the moment.
For months the supermarket tabloids have been claiming that Nicole Richie is looking to get out of her marriage from Joel Madden -- going so far as to insist in some reports that Paris Hilton's former bestie has already secured a lawyer in order to initiate the divorce proceeding.
Her 65-year-old father, Lionel Richie, finally spoke out against the avalanche of speculation earlier this month in Hello! magazine -- explaining that his daughter is still too smart to worry about what the media is saying about her even if he isn't:
"It's completely untrue...Aren't you going to clear [the rumors] up?' I asked Nicole. 'Nah, it's okay,' she said."
One source claiming to be close to the couple reveals in the June 22, issue of Star that things are going so well that Joel and Nicole are actually planning to have another baby, just as soon as she gets enough meet on her bones to actually be able to get pregnant:
"Joel has been harping on Nicole for being too skinny and blaming it for the reason she can't conceive.
"His feeling is: unhealthy body, unhealthy mind and marriage."
While it seems pretty doubtful that Joel Madden would be able to get away with speaking that way to Nicole, his wife did admit in an interview with Sirius Radio that she is definitely open to having more children in the future, but it would be misleading to claim that they were "planning" on it" (via Hello!):
"Of course, I'll be so excited, but I'm not necessarily planning.
"I'm so happy with what I have and I had more of course I'd be so happy. But right now, I'm good."
According to Lionel, Nicole and Joel need not worry their heads about what lies the media is spreading about them so long as they are, in fact, lies:
"I said to Nicole, 'Rumor you don't worry about. It's when they print something and it's true you need to worry.'"
Yes, but how will you know the difference unless you worry enough to check it out in the first place?
